I recently started notating my chess games, but I am not sure what to do with the notations. What is the best way to analyze a chess game?|||1) Right after you play a serious game, you can ask your opponent to go over the game with you. You can play through the moves and tell each other what you were planning. This is one of the best ways because the game is still fresh on your mind and you get the other perspective on it (and if you made a mistake in the notation, you can use your opponent's notation to correct it.)
2) You can use a program (I use ChessMaster) and play through the game. You can set it up to alert you when a mistake is made by either side, and you can look at what it thinks is the best move.
3) You can ask a friend to help you go through the moves. A second pair of eyes can help.
4) You can just play through the moves yourself. Try to find the spots where you made mistakes, so you can avoid them in the future.|||there are two things you can analyze a game of chess and the best way is to play it against a computer with the same difficulty settings.
The first is the points, each chess piece has their own value except the king so you can compare the points in total of the pieces you have taken and the total of points from the A.I taking your pieces. I personally use the point System to analyze risk and potential gain and this can be particular fun using a high valued piece to lure your opponents key pieces
The other is planning what moves you should take and possible moves your opponent makes as the ability to successfully predict your opponents move can mean the difference between victory and defeat.
using these two method can help use your analyzing skills to plan, jugde and make key moves|||I would probably say that if you are really interested in chess, invest in a Chessmaster computer game and then play against CPU, or a friend. Also, Chessmaster always has a feature where you can record the game, so you don't necessarily have to use notation. (Anyway, I think the more recent Chessmaster's actually record notation as well!)|||analyzing a game is like standing on the edge of a train platform....when you see the train coming?......you have to move !!
or the train will hit you
....chess works the same way !!
